Parent Training

Parenting is hard. Worth it, but hard. Even the most confident parents can benefit from education, coaching, and tools to support their child throughout development. Parent training provides you with the opportunity to understand your child’s emotions, reduce challenging behavior, deepen connection, and increase your confidence using values-based parenting strategies.

What topics does parent training include?

Parent training includes a variety of topics and is driven by your goals and values as a parent. Here are some examples of common topics:

  • Understanding your child’s big emotions and learning strategies to de-escalate

  • Improving the parent-child relationship

  • Improving compliance around listening, follow through, and daily routines

  • Parenting a child with ADHD, impulsivity, or neurodiversity

  • Parenting a child with anxiety

  • Partnering with your child’s school to address their needs and reduce problem behaviors at school

  • Setting family expectations and following through with those expectations

Is parent training right for me?

Parent training is appropriate for parents of children who are ages 3-17. Parent training may be right for you if:

  • You frequently use parenting strategies based on your emotional reaction in the moment rather than your values

  • You find yourself questioning your parenting decisions and want to build more confidence

  • Your family is going through a difficult transition

  • Your child is not yet ready for therapy

  • Your child is not willing to participate in therapy

  • You child is already seeing a provider, and you are in need of more information and strategies to help support your child with their challenges.
